Molly is the first calf out of our Bull, WL King.  King is sired by the sought after Silver Bull from Windland Flats farm, WL Genesis.  Genesis sire is the son of Angus the 8th of Dunvegan, imported from Scotland, Angus was an extremely long bull who was a great representative of Scottish character.  Genesis dam is Black Watch Portia, a fancy silver cow that was shown extensively. Kings dam is WL Georgia, she is the daughter of Trafalger Victor, who was the grand champion at the Denver Stock Show, and sired by the great Sunset Limited Edition. Georgia’s dam Prairie Grass Hills Sunsong is an impact dam sired by the past Canadian National Champion bull Du Boise Lecoq (Rooster)

Molly’s dam is our best producing cow Mellisa Dubh of Dundonald.  She comes from the prestigious Dundonald Farm’s and boast the tremendous maternal characteristics of the Mellisa line of cows.  We have witnessed firsthand on 6 calves to date that Mellisa is what we look for in our small fold.  We have kept Molly’s half sister HRE Veronica Buttercup (Ronnie) out of Mellisa and we look forward to seeing Ronnie’s first calf in October 2023.

Molly’s pedigree has many of the top Highland farms on her pedigree.  To go with her linage, Molly has taken on her Sire’s disposition of being extremely gentle and her docility score is as friendly as it gets.  Molly is shedding her calf coat and will end up being black like her dam. As are all of Mellisa’s calves, Molly is independent and moves about the pasture with authority.  Molly will be available at weaning in September 2023 and will be halter broke and up to date on vaccines and worming.
